Etsning, 30,5 x 22 cm, inklusive ram 50 x 40 cm. Signerad och daterad Mac Hamilton 1980 samt numrerad ’1/35’. Inför Mac Hamiltons självporträtt från 1980 går tankarna osökt till Axel Fridell och dennes ”Självporträtt i sportmössa II” från 1933, ett verk som i sin tur kan sägas vara inspirerat av Rembrandts självporträtt från 1648. På så sätt kan man se Mac Hamiltons självporträtt som en länk i en lång kedja av grafiska självporträtt i konsthistorien. I Moderna Museets samlingar finns ett annat porträtt i etsning av Mac Hamilton med titeln ”Kåpa”. Det är utfört samma år som det nu aktuella självporträttet och liksom detta i en upplag på endast 35 exemplar. Mac Hamilton utbildade sig på Konstakademien 1978-83. Han har främst blivit känd för sina stilleben, utförda i både målningar och färgträsnitt. Sommaren 2008 hade Mac Hamilton en uppmärksammad utställning på Prins Eugens Waldemarsudde. Has resale rights.
